Statement

My drawings are graceful investigations of the unpredictability and complexity of growth in the natural world. Inspired by the growth of trees and other flora, compositions stem from the adaptation that occurs when line, color marriages, and form acclimate to its surface environment.  Acknowledging segments of growth in nature and relating them to specific stages of human development (i.e. adolescence), I let shapes embark on their own journey of growth, illustrating particular traits which provoke human emotions (i.e. awkwardness, isolation); thus creating visual metaphors and revealing the bizarre courses of growth.
